Impact Of Interventions In Mbare

Community Water Alliance and Oxfam established and trained Community Health Clubs. Below is what was achieved by 10 CHCs:

1) Clearing Illegal Solid Waste Dumpsites and turning them into recreational facilities. Pictures below show this.

2) Cleaning kitchen sinks for flats that had waste and dirty accumulating over years. This included cleaning bathrooms.

3) Entrenching Community Based Disease Surveillance Mechanisms. The 70 cases of diarrhoea established in November 2021 was first detected and reported by Community Health Clubs in Mbare.

4) Inclusion. Championing inclusion of persons with disabilities and women into development programs.

5) Strengthening local referral systems for victims of sexual exploitation and abuse; gender based violence
