Community Water Alliance (CWA) has a Board of Trustees responsible for giving policy direction to the organization and playing oversight role over operations of the National Water Council and secretariat. The National Water Council acts as the management committee of the organization. The secretariat of the organization carries out day to day work of the organization. CWA has successfully coordinated grants from funding partners that include GIZ, the German Embassy, UNICEF,
Oxfam, SGP-GEF UNDP, Pact and the French Embassy.
Since its formation Community Water Alliance campaigned and lobbied for inclusion of human right to water during the 2013 Constitution making process and this is currently echoed on Section 77(a), which entitles “every person to safe, clean and potable water”. The organization has been providing technical expertise on WASH, environment and climate advocacy and governance to Civil Society Organizations in Zimbabwe.
